Band Shot
About the Band
Catch Trout Steak Revival live and you can't help but notice the band's gift to thrive in the moment. In 2008 the band formed, sparked by jam sessions with close friends during backpacking trips and backyard parties. The sounds of fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass, dobro, and accordion blend in TSR's bluegrass-inspired mountain music. While each member of the band composes original tunes, harmonic contributions are added by the entire band, following the bluegrass tradition and creating a unique sound. Scores of Colorado venues have hosted TSR since first honing their sound at the legendary Bucksnort Saloon. The five members hail from Colorado and the Midwest. TSR's lyrics visit themes of love, loss, settling into a new home, and other meditations, wrapped in thoughtful harmonies and conversation between their strings. The music comes from the heart and goes to the heart, whether you're listening to a live performance or on your car stereo, as the golden light of the last hours of the day paint the scenery outside your windshield.

TSR released its debut self-titled album in October of 2010, producing and recording the full length album themselves in a cabin in the foothills of Colorado. In just a few short years the band has built a steady and enthusiastic fan base. TSR performed at the historic Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition in June of 2011, followed by a tour of the Midwest, hitting a few hometowns along the way.

Trout Steak Revival is aiming their goals high for 2012. The band is looking forward to recording a new album! 2012 also will find TSR reaching out to their friends, family, and music lovers alike by extending their tour schedule to ever more cities. Casey Houlihan
Casey Houlihan - Standup Bass
Casey Houlihan was born and raised on the shores Lake Michigan in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Casey's initial interest in music was accommodated by the trombone and grew into singing and playing the guitar while studying outdoor education at the University of Minnesota. Casey is the backbone of Trout Steak Revival, providing lively bass lines and soaring vocal dimension. Casey's other passions include growing things, cooking delicious meals for the masses, and taking naps in the band van.
Steve Foltz
Steve Foltz - Mandolin & Guitar
Steve hails from Rhinelander, Wisconsin, home of the Hodag; a viscous, yet illusive woods creature of the Northern Wisconsin forests. The first instrument that caught his attention was his Grandfather's ukulele. Because he is left handed, he held it backwards. Grandpa Ben flipped it around and Steve has been at it ever since. Steve's other music adventures include the piano, tuba, fiddle, and harmonica. His unique song writing, energetic mandolin playing, and occasional broken guitar strings, add excitement to Trout Steak's show. Filled with love and passion for music and people around him, Steve is full of hugs, high fives, and long minutes of vamping on the "A".
Will Koster
Will Koster - Dobro & Guitar
Will Koster emigrated to Colorado after spending his youth and young manhood near the forests and streams of Michigan. Will spends most of his days under the sun as a carpenter but his passion belongs to music. He is a sound engineer and the proprietor of Sole Sound Recording. Will brings creativity and freedom to Trout Steak's persona. Will dreams of being in a synthesizer based dance band and his favorite food is pie.
Travis McNamara
Travis McNamara - Banjo
Travis is the youngest member of Trout Steak. Born in upstate New York, the son of a music teacher, he was surrounded by music and the green hills of the Finger lakes. He spent his youth in Michigan and his college years in the Pacific Northwest, graduating from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. Curious to his surroundings and musical ability, Travis has collected and mastered a variety of instruments. His keen ear and musical talent opened the door to playing the banjo with Trout Steak. Travis brings musical maturity to the band with a spontaneous energy that is contagious to Trout Steak Revival. Travis loves to preach the wisdom he has gained from watching numerous TED talks and is often surrounded by intrigued audiences.
Bevin Foley
Bevin Foley - Fiddle
Bevin is a native of Colorado. Her musical background in both classical violin and fiddle adds remarkable depth to TSR's sound. Bevin has played in the group Mountain Standard Time and also currently with The Mile Markers. Her sultry singing, precise fiddle playing, and warm personality is captivating for anyone watching. Bevin enjoys crocheting, backpacking trips in the mountains, squirreling food, cooking, and hanging out with her furious Boston Terrier, Jake.
